Pane’s work combines a variety of themes and styles; including paintings, drawings and installations, his style can be considered graphical, influenced by his graphic design practice and his love for comic books. His work also includes silkscreen prints, risographs, stickers, fanzines and t-shirts designs. Pane is not a one-style oriented artist but he works in different ways and with different materials; wood, ceramics, found objects and whatever is needed to create what he wants.
In his work we can highlight the use of simple and graphical shapes. The forms found in Pane’s work also become what he calls “cookies”, these are thick shapes built in wood and brightly coloured.
Another of Pane’s recurring subject is a character, often his alter ego or just a “tired old boy” that he uses in various comic like situations or builds in ceramic.
In pane’s work we find symbol like motifs such as fences, barrier-like items such as walls, tubes, holes or clouds.
